Children involved in crash on Chesterfield street

Two children were involved in a crash on a Chesterfield street last night.

A Fiat 500 car and Kawasaki 125 motorbike collided on Highfield Lane in Newbold at about 6pm.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "It happened at the junction with Newbold Avenue.

"The driver of the Fiat along with a passenger and two children who were in the back seat suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for a check-up.

"The motorcyclist was taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

"His condition is not currently known."

An eyewitness to the crash said: "It looked serious."
