The suspension, ordered by Chesterfield Borough Council's licensing committee after a private hearing, was put in place with a requirement that the business reviewed its management policies and practices, particularly with regard to staff conduct, supervision and reporting, to ensure controls are put in place.

The decision comes two weeks after the committee imposed an interim suspension of Moo Bar's licence on police advice following several 'violent incidents' associated with the popular nightspot.

Councillor Lisa-Marie Derbyshire, chair of the licensing committee which made the decision, said: "We consider licensing issues seriously.
