Chesterfield's Harry Maguire scores his first England goal in World Cup win against Sweden

Former Chesterfield schoolboy Harry Maguire scored his first goal for England as Gareth Southgate's side progressed to the semi-finals of the World Cup after a 2-0 win against Sweden.

Maguire, who attended St Mary's Roman Catholic High School, headed England in front from an Ashley Young corner after 30 minutes.

The 25-year-old's younger brother, Laurence Maguire, 21, who plays for Chesterfield, was allowed to travel to Russia by Spireites manager Martin Allen so he could watch his sibling in action this afternoon.

Dele Alli added a second for England after the break.

England will now play either Russia or Croatia in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

It is the first time England have reached the semi-finals of a World Cup since 1990.
