CHESTERFIELD: Tom Roberts installed as president of Old Cestrefeldians Society

Around 100 former pupils of Chesterfield School sat down at the Proact Stadium on the occasion of the 84th annual dinner and reunion of the Old Cestrefeldians’ Society.

After the toast to the Queen and absent members, Eric Cooper proposed the toast to ‘The Old School and the Old Cestrefeldians’ Society’ and the retiring president, Sir Robin Saxby, responded.

Steve Pettett then proposed Tom Roberts as the new president of the society, and he was duly installed by Sir Robin Saxby who handed over the official badge of office.

The new president then responded, before the assembled company divided up into their former houses to sing the school song and William Blake’s ‘Jerusalem’ to close the formal part of the evening.
