New life is being breathed into a pub in Chesterfield.

The St Helens Inn on Sheffield Road will hold a re-opening party from 7pm on Friday.

It will be under new ownership after the previous business which ran the premises, St Helens Public House Ltd, entered liquidation.

Insolvency practitioners Philip Nunney and Nicola Kirk, of Sheffield-based Abbey Taylor, have been appointed joint liquidators of the firm.

The company, which was formed in 2011, is in creditors’ voluntary liquidation.

Creditors’ voluntary liquidation is when a firm’s directors choose to voluntarily bring the business to an end by appointing a liquidator to liquidate all of its assets.

As reported at the start of the year, St Helens Public House Ltd was punished for putting drinkers' lives at risk - after the death of an award-winning chef.
