Chesterfield Theatre Friends new season of ‘In Conversation’ got off to a good start with ‘Diverse Verse’ from David and Olive Davies, who treated the audience to a wide ranging poetry reading – everything from Seamus Heaney to Pam Ayres and many others. Thanks go to David and Olive, and also to Margaret McCall for her excellent soups which rounded off a very enjoyable morning.
The next event in the ‘In Conversation’ programme is on Thursday, October 10, at 11am, when Sheila Young and Carole Copeland will present ‘Surviving the Business’, a light hearted review of their lives in the theatre, and what they have had to do to survive! Tickets cost £4.50, and if booked in advance, include soup and a roll after the talk.
On Thursday, November 21, the Derbyshire Times’ very own Lynne Patrick will be presenting ‘A Lifetime spent scratching a living with a Pen’ – Lynne has written many creative works, and has acted herself – so this promises to be a very interesting insight into her life.
