The final trial of the 2012 season has recently been held - the Double Trophy Trial. Organised by Anne and Norman Buck, this trial was the first for many years to use “Tulip Diagrams” as the form of instructions, which caused one or two riders to scratch their heads in confusion! Starting from Dronfield, this 46-mile trial passed through Apperknowle, Eckington, Spinkhill, Barlborough, Clowne, Bolsover, Skegby, Stanton Hill, Teversal, Tibshelf, Astwith, Heath and Arkwright before finishing at the Hopflower, Inkersall for Sunday lunch.
This trial was split into two sections, one for previous trial winners, and one for non-winners. The winners’ section, for the Kantlehner Cup, was won by John and Kate Gillibrand, whilst Mick Clark and Richard Staniforth received the Wilson Cup as previous non-winners.
Meanwhile a games evening has been held at Oxfcroft Club, with four awards being won - the ladies’ darts by Helen Linacre, the ladies’ dominoes by Kate Linacre, the men’s darts by Norman Buck and the men’s dominoes by John Staniforth,
