The Chesterfield-based North Derbyshire Motor Club held the first trial of the 2013 season. This was the Cobweb Trial, which started from Wingerworth and passed through Ashover, Clay Cross, Tibshelf, Pleasley and Stanton Hill before finishing at the Caernavon Arms in Teversal, where riders enjoyed Sunday lunch. The winner was John Staniforth, with Helen Linacre navigating, who scored four points, Second was Mick Clark and Richard Staniforth, who also scored four and Matt Tomlinson and Reece Hellewell third with a score of zero.
Meanwhile several social events have been held, including the annual spring dominoes tournament; won by Lisa Chapman after defeating Norman Buck in the final and the annual spring darts; won by Richard Staniforth after also beat Norman Buck in the final.
The first two legs of the pool tournament have also taken place. Held at Alfreton Snooker Centre, the first saw victory for Richard Staniforth who beat Mick Clark in the final, and the second was won by Stewart Morley, with Mick Clark again the runner-up.
A competition in the club newsletter, the Stag Gazette, to win a T-shirt was won by Mick Clark, whilst the raffle held at the latest members meeting was won by Norman Buck.
