CHESTERFIELD: North Derbyshire Motor Club member Joe Parkin wins off-road driving trophy

The Chesterfield-based North Derbyshire Motor Club has held the first of the off-road driving days for 2013, the Charles Ellis Blanksby Trophy event. Held in Brimington Common, and using a vehicle supplied by Woodleigh Motors of Grassmoor, the winner was Joe Parkin with a time of 150.94 seconds. Runner-up was Richard Staniforth (193.35) and third Matt Tomlinson (195.44).

Meanwhile several social events have also been held, including a dominoes fives and threes tournament which was won by Anne Buck who defeated Mick Clark in the final; a beetle drive, won by Norman Buck, whilst John Staniforth won the shove ha’penny.

A competition in the club newsletter, the Stag Gazette, to win a CD holder, was won by Mick Clark, whilst a raffle held at a members meeting was won by Cliff Bennett.
