57 members and one visitor were welcomed to the April meeting of Chesterfield Morning Townswomen’s Guild by Guild Chairman, Mrs Margaret
Beresford. Forthcoming events details were given to the ladies.
On May 2 at Talk Shop, Mr Ian Jackson will be sharing his experiences as a games maker at the Olympic Games in 2012.

Brenda Alllen gave details of the theatre visits already planned, and gave details of the 30th anniversary lunch which will be held at The Blue Bell, Tissington, on June 27.
Mrs Jean Tindale gave details of a Flower Festival at Chatsworth in August - more details will be given at the next meeting.
Mrs Beresford then introduced the Guild Committee for 2013/14. Joint chairmen will be Mrs Margaret Beresford and Mrs Alva deChiro; secretary, Mrs Ann Margett; treasurer, Mrs Jan Buck; registrars, Mrs Sue Rimmington and Mrs Joan Green; Talk Shop and programme secretary, Mrs Margaret Freeman; outings, Mrs Mavis Clark and Mrs Brenda Allen; ticket sales, Mrs Marion Maycock; hostess, Mrs Christine Wightman; catering coordinators, Mrs Joan Brown and Mrs Eva Rasen; sales table, Mrs Cherys Gray; publicity, Mrs Jan Buck; deputy chairmen, Mrs Jean Tindale and Mrs Margaret Baxter; federation delegates, Mrs Margaret Beresford and Mrs Sue Rimmington.
All the ladies were thanked for agreeing to be on the committee, giving so generously of their time is what makes the Guild as successful as it is.
The morning ended with an amusing talk by Mrs Joan Ward “Life begins at 50”.
