According to national reports, Hall, who claims to be a former British soldier, is said to have been fighting with fellow Britons who call themselves the Daesh Hunting Club.

Hall’s Go Fund Me page said: “I’m Barry an ex British soldier working as a medical volunteer with a group of western veterans that are here helping the Kurdish people in northern Iraq.

“As a volunteer I obviously have to self fund myself and maintain my personal kit and equipment which at times can be extremely difficult.

“I also have to cover all the food and vet bills for my dog Max, he’s a German Shepard that I took in when I arrived here in Kurdistan.

“My average monthly living expenses come to around £100 per month so any small donations would soon build up and they’d help tremendously.

“All donations given go towards day to day items such as medical equipment, medicines, toiletries, basic food essentials and ultimately towards the cost of flights home for both myself and Max.”

“Thankyou everyone.”

Hall, whose Twitter account @bazza11311 is no longher in use, has since been wanted by Derbyshire police and was arrested at Manchester Airport yesterday.

Hall was found guilty of two rapes and a common assault and pleaded guilty to an ABH and an assault by beating.

Detective Constable, Matthew Greatorex, said: “Barry Hall evaded the sentence that was given to him for the crimes he committed. He will now be brought to justice and serve the appropriate sentence.

“A large amount of work has been put into tracking down Hall and ensuring that he returned to the country. I am pleased that this work has paid off and Hall is now behind bars paying the price for the crimes he committed.”

Hall arrived at Manchester airport yesterday (May 5) and was arrested by DC Greatorex. He was taken to police custody and will appear at Derby Crown Court today (Friday, May 6).
