A kind and much-loved fundraiser who supported Ashgate Hospice where he was cared for has sadly passed away.
Mr Peter Hardy, 67, of Holmewood, Chesterfield, was forever grateful for the care he received at the hospice’s day unit while he was suffering with symptoms relating to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The former builder and fork lift truck driver used his mobility scooter to collect tin cans to recycle for charity cash.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a member of Williamthorpe Angling Club and he enjoyed painting and glass painting.
Mr Hardy leaves his wife Susan, children David, Lisa, Kevin and Ben, grandchildren Ashley, Jacob, Joseph, Tristan, Jake, Maise and Alfie.
A funeral was scheduled for yesterday, October 15, at Chesterfield crematorium.
A hospice spokesman described Peter as a lovely man who will be fondly remembered by all who know him at the hospice.
