Members of Chesterfield Embroiderers Guild enjoyed an inspiring talk by Diane Grant entitled ‘My Canvas Work Journey’. Diane is well known in the UK and USA publishing two excellent books which entice embroiderers to have a go.
The guild heard how she spent 20 years developing American canvas work to a new level, stimulating all to enjoy her passion. There were lots of wonderful American threads to touch and admire as well as pieces of work.
The guild meets on the first Thursday of the month except August at The Saints Parish Rooms, St Mary’s Gate, Chesterfield. Visitors are always welcome to join members for tea and biscuits at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Look out for the guild’s stand on Chesterfield Market on August 3 for what will become the annual ‘National Needlework Day.’
