Chesterfield dancer to represent country at cheerleading world championships

A Chesterfield dancer is set to represent her country at the 2018 International Cheerleading Union World Championships.

Stephanie Miles, owner of Crystal Cheer and Dance in the town, has been selected to take part in the Team England ParaCheer HipHop.

The 2018 International Cheerleading Union World Championships will be held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, at the end of this month.

After auditioning for a place on the ParaCheer team, Stephanie was joined by 21 other athletes with and without physical or sensory disabilities, working together to create routines and performances showing disability is no barrier to this sport.

She said: "Getting a chance to represent England is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a dream I have had for years.

"I feel inspired every time I train with my team-mates.

"Knowing that it doesn't matter what abilities you may or may not have, it's never enough to stop you reaching your goals."
