CHESTERFIELD: Caledonian Association to host talk on Mary, Queen of Scots

Chesterfield and District Caledonian Association are fortunate to have again secured the presence of Mrs Sonia Preece, a National Trust Guide at Hardwick Hall, enthusiast and expert on local history, to give a presentation on Mary, Queen of Scots, at Walton Village Centre, Walton Back Lane, Chesterfield, on Saturday, October 26, at 7.30pm.

Mary, Queen of Scots, also known as Mary Stuart or Mary I of Scotland, was queen regnant of Scotland from December 14, 1542 to July 24, 1567, and queen consort of France from July 10, 1559 to December 5, 1560.

Sonia gave a presentation some two years ago on “Hardwick Hall & Bess of Hardwick” which everyone enjoyed immensely.

Her talk on Mary, Queen of Scots, promises to be another fascinating insight for lovers of our local heritage and local history.
