An entrepreneur has risen to the challenge of teaching youngsters how to bake.

Phyllis Bown has launched a new studio at her Chesterfield business to hold baking workshops for children.

Phyllis, who owns Harriet’s Couture Cakes on Chatsworth Road, said: “I’m really passionate about baking. Both my grandmothers taught me to bake.

“My grandmother Harriet was an excellent baker and taught me a lot of my baking skills, including bread making, pastry dishes, cakes and many homemade recipes.

“I’m eternally grateful that I had such good mentors who helped me with my passion for baking – and now I want to pass on my skills to other children.”
