Members of Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution continue their fund-raising efforts on behalf of the organisation.
Branch chairman, John Grubb, recently gave a talk about the work of the RNLI to members of the Derby Probus club meeting at Hilton, Derby and received donations amounting to over £175, with a further £17.75 raised by a collection box in South Normanton.
A collection at Dobbies Garden Centre at Barlborough last Saturday raised nearly £120, and on the same day branch manager Zoe Hague and her friends at Whitwell organised a coffee morning, which raised over £170. The sales stall under the watchful eye of souvenir secretary Tony Dale was in action at the coffee morning, raising nearly £200 there, and also at Ashover Show, where a record £1030+ was achieved.
Not resting on their laurels, however, the stall will be at Chatsworth Country Fair throughout the three days next weekend and members will also be collecting at Sainsbury’s store in Dronfield shortly.
Thanks have been expressed to who helped at these events, to the event organisers for their support and to all the members of the public for their continuing generosity.
