TWO youngsters who admitted putting spray paint on lamp posts and a door have been made to clean up their graffiti.

The boys, aged 11 and nine, also agreed to pay for repairs to an electricity box which they had damaged on Forge Drive last month.

PCSO Kirsty Handby said: “Graffiti and damage can ruin the appearance of an area and makes it less pleasant for local residents.

“Both the boys have apologised, they’ve spent more than two hours cleaning the spray paint and they’ve been to look around the police cells.

“Hopefully they will think twice before they do anything like this again.” The matter was dealt with through restorative justice, which was brought in by police in 2009.
