A bank has been damaged in Chesterfield.

An advertising display was pulled down, a substance was smeared over the ATM machines and a CCTV camera and someone tried to set fire to a wooden door at Lloyds TSB on the Market Place.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to two boys, one with a bike, who were seen near the bank on the evening of the crime.

One of the boys was wearing a dark hooded top and trousers and the other a was wearing a parka-style coat with fur trim around the hood.

The incident happened sometime overnight between Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8, but police only told the media about the incident this week.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
