Police are appealing for information after thieves stole two Chihuahuas.

At about 1.40pm yesterday, the dogs’ owner was upstairs in her house on Shakespeare Street in Chesterfield when she heard the garden gates slam.

She looked out of her window and saw two men running up the road towards Shelley Street carrying her dogs.

The woman ran down the street but couldn’t see where the offenders had gone

One of the dogs has black spots and the other is a week-old cream-coloured puppy.

Both men were wearing grey clothing.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
