The Children’s Sleep Charity has received funding from the Better Derbyshire Dales Grant and is able to offer a free workshop to parents on Thursday, December 3 at the Ashbourne, betweeen 9.30am and 12.30pm.

Founder and mum Vicki Dawson said: “I went through hell when my son was younger, he wouldn’t sleep through the night and that had devastating knock-on effects on me and how I was feeling.

“I was constantly drained and didn’t know where to turn to and found out there was little help available for parents who are going through similar things so I decided to set up somewhere that could provide help advice.

“When you wake up in the middle of the night frustrated you feel like you are the only person in the world going through this but there are so many other people who are in the same boat.”

The charity’s aim is to ensure all children are supported to get a good night’s sleep and that the importance of sleep for children’s mental, emotional and physical wellbeing is valued and established.

The meeting next month will be helping parents move forward with their children and offer new techniques which may have been overlooked.
