Belper mayor Dan Booth and other local councillors will be taking turns in the stocks to raise money for charity.
The public will get the chance to throw wet sponges at the councillors, with all proceeds going to Treetops Hospice.
The event takes place on the day of the farmers’ market on Saturday, September 12, from 10am.
Cllr Booth said: “We hope it will be a really fun event that everyone can enjoy.
“It will also give the public a chance to come and soak their mayor and local councillors.”
