After being granted planning permission from Derbyshire Dales District Council, The Original Factory Shop is opening a new shop at the former Hi Q tyre depot, in Firs Parade, on Saturday, October 4.

The company has pumped £250,000 into the premises, which is owned by TC Harrison Group Ltd, and creating 20 new jobs.

Area manager, Julie Mallender, is confident that the store will breathe new life into Matlock town centre and play an important role in the local community.

She said: “There’s a real buzz around town about the store opening. We’re hoping that our blend of well–known brands, great value and unbeatable prices will make us a firm favourite with local and visiting shoppers alike.

“We’re looking forward to spreading the joy of bagging a genuine bargain.”

The store will be officially launched by Matlock’s mayor David Barker, who will begin a day of celebrations by cutting a ceremonial ribbon at 9am to mark the occasion.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to win prizes in free ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Hook a Duck’ games on the opening day between 9am and 6pm with a guaranteed prize for all participants.

There will also be children’s face painting.

The prize giving will continue all day – all customers visiting the store on Saturday will be entered into a prize draw, and the lucky winner will receive a year’s free shopping at the new store.

The shop will sell a wide range of men’s, ladies’ and children’s fashions, as well as home wares, electrical goods and toiletries, including a large selection of branded goods.

The company also promises to introduce new deals every week.
