Celebration to mark library’s reopening

A PROGRAMME of events is set to take place to mark Chesterfield library’s reopening.

The month-long celebration includes an evening with award-winning poet Roger McGough, on March 12, who has been honoured with a CBE for services for literature

The events kick off on February 29 with a reading champion celebration.

On March 1 there will a chance to meet author Celia Rees, who is one of Britain’s foremost writers for teenagers and March 2 will be a chance to look round the library’s new health and wellbeing zone.

Other events to look out for include a week of behind-the-scenes tours kicking off on March 12, when visitors will be able to see parts of the library not normally open to the public and Derbyshire poet laureates live in the library on March 14.
