Casualty taken to hospital after Heath crash

Firefighters removed a male casualty from the wreckage of a crashed vehicle.

The collision happened about 1.30pm, today, Saturday, February 21, and involved two vehicles at the junction of the A617 carriageway at the Heath and M1 motorway roundabout.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One male casualty had to be freed after firefghters removed the roof of one the vehicles.”

The casualty was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Chesterfield and Clay Cross fire crews attended the collision and made the area safe by about 1.45pm.
