Care UK sets new record for Children in Need

And it was the Barlborough centre which raised more than other centres after collecting an impressive £860 towards the £7,233 total.

The centres’ efforts were topped up with a £2,000 match-funding cheque from the charitable donation scheme the provider offers.

At Barlborough treatment centre, the team took on the gruelling plank challenge, which involved holding a push-up style stance for as long as possible. The centre’s coffee shop baked and decorated cakes and the team made donations to wear spotty or pink items of clothing.

The centre was also visited by some very special guests from Tree Tops Nursery who came to meet Pudsey.

Hospital director Steve Booker said: “It was an inspirational day. From one of our physios holding the plank for more than six minutes, to one of our housekeeping team creating hedgehogs out of recycled books, everyone gave their all for this worthwhile cause.”
