Cannabis found during house blaze in Clay Cross

A cannabis farm was discovered at a house in Clay Cross after a fire broke out at the property.

When fire crews were called to the blaze at a house on Broadleys, they discovered several cannabis plants growing.

Derbyshire Fire and rescue Service contacted police who arrived at the scene shortly after 10am this morning (Tuesday, May 5).

The fire, on the first floor, is believed to be due to an electrical fault.

A fire investigation is ongoing and a spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said no arrests had been made yet.
