BUSINESSES flocked to Edale at the weekend and lived in shelters made from scavenged materials – all in the name of fighting poverty.

The 35 teams – competing in Habitat for Humanity’s annual Hope Challenge – made and slept in shelters constructed from a variety of materials including a tepee made from ladders and tarpaulin and a home constructed from cardboard boxes.

The teams raised a total of £105,000 which will be enough to help 85 families to escape poor housing forever.
