Work aimed at developing a new Cadets’ training centre in Dronfield in on target for completion later this year.
The new centre will be used by the Air Training Corps (ATC) and is being constructed on the same Hartington Road site as the Cadets’ former training hut.
Work started in January and has already seen the demolition of the former training facility with the foundations for the new structure being laid.
East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) are project managing the new building.
Martin Capewell, Head of Estates at East Midlands RFCA, said: “We are really pleased at the way in which the works are developing.
“1890 (Dronfield) Squadron’s former training hut was built in the 1950s so was in need of an update. We are confident that the new building will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
