The 57-year-old, of Upper End Road, Peak Dale, admitted drink driving and was sentenced on Monday at High Peak Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that she acted as a full time carer for her mother, while also looking after the animals on mother’s small holding.

Chairman of the bench Mr Hickman said: “You were four times over the legal limit and driving at a time when members of the public were around. You could have crashed and killed somebody.”

Woolliscroft was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, a 12-month supervision order, 200 hours of unpaid work and a three-year driving ban.

She was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
