A TOP nutritionalist and gym owner has joined forces with a pioneering business man to provide a new super-food with remarkable health properties for sports buffs and people of all ages.

Mari-Vic Gomez of Gymophobics, in Chesterfield, agreed to become a distributor for Chia UK seeds after the super-food has been helping to keep her two poorly children stronger and healthier as they battle a neurological condition.

Gymophobics teamed up with Chia UK’s Nick Gledhill when he had started taking the seeds to help him back on the road to recovery after suffering with a non-malignant cancer and Ms Gomez has been selling the seeds among customers who have been delighted with the results.

Mari said: “The driving force for me has been to improve my children’s health with better nutrition and Chia seeds have been part of that because they really help to improve energy levels and overall health and well-being.”

Chia UK claims a regular intake of Chia seeds can provide more calcium than milk, more potassium than bananas, more magnesium than broccoli, more protein than kidney beans, more iron than spinach, more omega than salmon and more fibre than bran flakes.

Nick said: “I started to take Chia after suffering ill health and my old boss was so impressed with how well I started to look he suggested I take up selling the seeds and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.”

Those interested in learning more about Chia, which was originally used by the Aztecs, can call Nick on 07773 963963 or Gymophobics on (01246) 276767.
