The service 222 shuttle bus has been renamed the Dambuster service to respect the area’s connection with Second Word War flying history.

The name refers to the famous Dambusters of 617 Squadron who practiced low-flying over the Upper Derwent Valley in preparation for their daring raid on German dams.
