HEALTH workers are appealing for budding gardeners to take part in a new garden share scheme.
The project will match Rother and Holmebrook garden owners with people interested in tending to their land.
Helen Stockton, of Derbyshire County PCT, said: “The aim is to establish a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between the garden owner and the grower.
“The garden owner benefits from having a well-tended garden to enjoy and regular social contact with their garden buddy. The grower gains access to some growing space for fruit, vegetables or flowers – and the opportunity to get some great open air exercise.”
Helen added the Garden Buds scheme would be perfect for those who may be on an allotment waiting list or need some extra land.
