BRIMINGTON: Parking problems occupy parish council meeting

Cllr Peter Cawthorne chaired the July meeting of Brimington Parish Council.

Cllr B. Weston spoke about problems with children playing football etc on the corner of Hill View Road onto Rayleigh Avenue.

The police spoke of ongoing problems regarding parking on Summerfield Way and Coronation Road when parents are taking and collecting children from school. Officers will visit when the new term starts in September.

Cllr J. Haywood said that vehicles parking right up to the entrance of the Methodist Church car park caused difficulty to visibility.

Councillors heard that the Neighbourhood Watch annual meeting would be held at Sharley Park Community Primary School on August 21 at 6.30pm.

Planning applications included: change of use of land and single storey at 9 Peterdale Road - no comment; residential development of four dwellings on land at Upper King Street - parish councillor’s comments have been received by Chesterfield Borough Council.

The clerk is to write to the youth club stating that no ball games are to be played in the main hall after the caretaker was advised that games had caused lights to sway.

The next meeting of the council will be held on Tuesday, September 10, at 7pm at Heywood Street Community Centre.
