The Harvest of the Community was the theme for The Gospel Mission Congregational Church’s harvest festival this year. As part of the Chatsworth Road Festival, the service celebrated the rich harvest to be found amongst the people of the local community.
Guest speakers included: Mrs Jill Branson from Blu Bistro, Mrs Marilyn Woodhouse from Brocklehurst Court and Mr Philip Johnson from the famous Ironmongers established 125 years ago this year.
The community bus was used to bring several residents from Brocklehurst Court and The Faith and Light group were also present amongst a large congregation.
After the service, many stayed for a buffet tea and an auction of harvest goods which raised over £300 for The neo-natal baby unit at The Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
