Bolsover MP Dennis Skinner interrupts the Queen’s Speech – again

Firebrand Labour MP Dennis Skinner has interrupted the Queen’s Speech – again.

The 82-year-old former miner, who has represented Bolsover since 1970, has a record of heckling when House of Lords official Black Rod enters the Commons to summon MPs to hear the Queen open a new session of Parliament.

As Lieutenant General David Leakey carried out his duties, Mr Skinner dryly quipped: “Coalition’s last stand.”

The joke was met with laughs and applause.

The MP is currently trending on Twitter following the gag.
