TWO 4x4 owners and a motorcyclist have been given warnings after being caught on private land by police in Bolsover.

Officers from the Bolsover Town Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team caught the vehicle owners causing nuisance on private land at Mill Lane, Stanfree, on Sunday, March 11.

The three men were given warnings and if they are caught causing nuisance again within the next 12 months officers will seize the vehicle.

Police targeted the area after reports of nuisance riders from members of the community.

PCSO Ben Perry said: “This area is becoming a big problem and we are regularly getting reports of vehicles causing damage here. It is also dangerous to the riders and has many open manholes and reinforced wire sticking out of the ground.

“We are aware this site is advertised on numerous off road forums and are working with Derbyshire County Council to educate motorists about the dangers and prevent vehicles gaining access to the site.”
