Body found in field identified as missing Chesterfield man


The body of a man found in a field has been formally identified as missing 26-year-old Alistair Gosney.

Mr Gosney was reported missing from his home in Newbold on the evening of Monday, January 12.

Police found his body while searching a field off Lower Alley, Calow, on Thursday afternoon.

His family is said to be “devastated”.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

A police spokesman said: “Officers would like to thank everyone who has helped in the search.”
