Police are appealing for information after a bench was damaged at the cricket pavilion in Queen’s Park.
The incident happened sometime overnight between Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8.
PCSO Scott Wilson, of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team, has been carrying out enquiries.
He said: “The damage to replace or repair the seat is costly for the council and also inconveniences other people who want to use the park facilities.
“I would encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact us, and also to report any suspicious activity or anti-social behaviour to police so that we can help prevent or take action against any offenders.”
Anyone with information should contact PCSO Wilson on 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
