Beer festival to pull in crowds

One of the most atmospheric beer festivals in the country is set to take place.

This year’s Rail Ale Festival promises to pull in the crowds next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The popular event, which will be held at Barrow Hill Roundhouse, near Staveley, will boast more than 240 different real ales and 70 ciders.

A spokesman for the festival said: “Set within the unique surroundings of the UK’s last-surviving operational roundhouse, classic steam and diesel locomotives will once again form dramatic backdrops to the bars.

“One of the bars will showcase some of the real ales brewed in Derbyshire. Another highlight of the festival will be the eclectic musical offering ranging from brass, through jazz and acoustic to punk rock.”
