An open day is to be held on Saturday, May 18, at 12 noon till 5pm, at Barrow Hill Methodist Community Church. A variety of attractionswill include the Charity Dignity Barrel Organ, stalls offering attic clearance goods, wall art, car and phone accessories and garden planters. Also for sale is a wide selection of clearance paintings at low cost.
There will be a variety of games, face painting and crafts and the apppearance of the church’s mascot Freddie the Giraffe. There is a café offering drinks and refreshments.
The main event during the day is the opening of the new toilet block. Over the last year a tremendous amount of work has gone into the planning and final construction of a much needed set of toilets that contain full disabled facilities, (all thanks to funder Viridor.) A special ceremony with Uncle Michael the Clown opening the toilets at around 1pm will be followed by a magic performance.
The Methodist Church now operates as a community church designed to help its surrounding community and a series of events have been arranged for the year.
A newsletter outlining all the events is being distributed but anyone interested may request by telephone 07938 973965, email to email@example.com or post through the letterbox - Cavendish Place, Barrow Hill S43 2NB.
