BARLOW: WI members try out relaxation techniques

Once again and for the second year, the snow beat us and we were unable to undertake our village ‘litter pick.’ We will try again next year – weather permitting.

At our April meeting, we had to transfer our meeting to the Methodist Chapel because the Village Hall is undertaking a long awaited kitchen refurbishment. We decided to try something different and with the help of Ann Roberts, we had 3 speakers from ‘Sehati’ who each spoke on different therapies to improve health and wellbeing. The ladies then offered our members a taster session in reflexology, massage and Indian head massage.

On the May 14, we will be back to our usual meeting venue of the Village Hall. During this meeting, we will discuss the National WI’s resolution relating to the demise of the High Street. Judy Bennison is then planning a beetle drive and chair exercises before the meeting ends at around 9.30pm. Do come long if you are free. The meeting will be chaired by Ann Roberts because three of us arefortunate in that we are joining the Derbyshire Wi’s annual holiday travelling from the east to west coast of America. It’s not all ‘jam and Jerusalem’ at Barlow WI.
