BAR ATTACK: 'I'll never go out in town again'
A woman who was attacked in a Chesterfield nightspot says she will never go out in the town again.
Louise Cowe, of Mansfield, was enjoying a night out with her friend Alison Breedom when both of them were assaulted in Aruba in the town centre.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the crime.
Louise, 44, said: "We were out having a drink and a good time when my feet started to hurt in Aruba so we went and sat at a table.
"We later asked a man if there was a smoking area in the bar when a woman approached me.
"She grabbed me by the hair, dragged me off the stool then kicked me and punched me twice in the face.
"It all happened really quickly.
"I've been left with concussion, bruises and problems to one of my eyes."
Louise described the incident as 'really awful'.
She said: "The attack was completely unexpected and unprovoked.
"I don't think the woman liked the fact we asked the man if there was a smoking area. It must have been her other half.
"I last went out in Chesterfield four years ago and had a really nice time – there were no problems.
"This time, it was horrible.
"I won't go out in Chesterfield ever again," added Louise.
Louise said she wanted to talk to us in the hope of encouraging witnesses – or the offender – to come forward.
Alison, of Chesterfield, was punched twice in the head.
The 35-year-old said: "It's put me off going out in the town. I think it's quite a dangerous place.
"I hope whoever did this is found and brought to justice."
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "We are appealing for witnesses after two women were assaulted in a Chesterfield nightclub.
"At about 10.50pm on Saturday, October 15, a group of women were talking to a man in Aruba on Corporation Street.
"A woman approached the group and assaulted one of the women and dragged another off of a bar stool and then kicked and punched her.
