Staff were left terrified when two balaclava-clad men raided the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), in Main Road, Hathersage, on Thursday, February 21.

The offenders – who were brandishing a silver handgun and a crowbar – lay in wait for staff then pounced on them and casually strolled off with £108,000 in a holdall.

The appeal featured on the BBC’s Crimewatch programme last month.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “As a result of this appeal, we’ve had several leads which we’re now following up on.”

Some of the stolen money was protected by a security device which would have released red dye when activated. The British Bank Association is offering a £15,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders and the Royal Bank of Scotland is offering a £10,000 reward. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
