Ban provides hope for bee numbers

DERBYSHIRE Wildlife Trust has welcomed a decision to restrict pesticides known as neonics on crops which are attractive to bees.

The European Commission has placed a temporary suspension on dangerous insecticides called neonicotinoids which is expected from December 2013. It is hoped the ban will help reduce the declining number of bees.
