Wall of Sound got the school day off to a high decibel start by performing in assemblies before lessons.

They then worked with students with some musical experience in smaller groups, giving them the opportunity to develop their skills.

Three rock masterclasses were run for 11-15 year old musicians. Students created their own Wall of Sound in the final whole group performance featuring six drum kits, 12 guitars, and assorted keyboards and singers.

The workshops were provided as part of the Turn it up programme from Fleet Arts.

Tim Maunder, Director of Music at Lady Manners School, said: “This was a great opportunity to get these talented students together playing music. Many of the students have now been inspired to form their own groups.” The verdict from students? “Brilliant – it was really loud.”
