Bakewell is second best town in the country

Bakewell has been ranked by The Times newspaper as the second best town in the whole country.

The newspaper – which published its findings in an article last week – deemed that only Arundel, West Sussex, was a better place to live, work or visit.

The article reports: “Why is [Bakewell] so great? It has a pudding named after it, so what’s not to love? Bakewell is beautiful in its own right and is surrounded by the Peak District – some of our best walking country. Stone buildings, riverside walks and cute shops attract visitors, as does nearby Chatsworth House.”

Do you think that Bakewell deserves this prestigious accolade? Do you think that it should have secured the top spot?
