BAKEWELL: Livestock Society present cheques to charity

The High Peak Livestock Society, an organisation of 635 farmers local to the Peak District, has always raised funds for charity.

This year the presentation of cheques took place in the auctioneer’s rostrum at Bakewell Livestock Market on the occasion of the January cattle sale.

Donations of £506 were made to Helens Trust, Ashgate Hospice and Blythe House Hospice and a cheque for £450 was awarded to Orchard Cottage. Representatives of the various charities were presented with their cheques bythe High Peak Livestock Society chairman, Mr Robert Walker from Alport, near Bakewell.
