Award for long-serving Royal Navy officer with links to Brimington
Royal Navy Warrant Officer Chris Fairey is pictured receiving the second clasp to his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal from Rear Admiral K. Blunt.
The presentation took place at Chris’s home base of RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall.
Chris has served in the Royal Navy for 35 years, joining a year after the Falklands War.
He was educated at Brimington Boys Senior School and followed his father, a veteran of the Falklands and Gulf War 1, into the Royal Navy, serving as an air engineer in Fleet Air Arm. Chris’s parents still live in Brimington.
Chris said: “I have enjoyed my Naval life, i have seen many changes, visited many places around the world, and was involved in Gulf War 2.”
He plans to leave the Royal Navy in January 2020.
Chris and his wife Donna have a 16-year-old son, William, and are currently living in Helston, Cornwall.
