Armed robbery at Matlock bank

An armed robber targeted a Matlock bank this afternoon - making off with a quantity of cash.

At 2.30pm today (Wednesday, February 18) a white man entered the Royal Bank of Scotland, in Snitterton Road, and demanded cash from staff.

An amount of money was handed over and the man left the bank.

The bank is currently cordoned off following the incident.

Officers have been going door-to-door asking people if they witnessed anything that may help with their investigation.

Police are asking anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area, between 2pm and 3pm, to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 395 of February 18.
